The Martial Arts is a mandatory life skill.

Activities and sports are great for our kids. Things like
S
occer… the Robotics team… even Boy and Girl Scouts,
re a great way to keep kids active and connected to their
peers. Not on the couch and watching Tik Tok or playing
video games with their Oculus.

But what about swim lessons? Well swim lessons, they’re
different. In a whole other category really. Because
swimming is a life skill… something every child needs to
know how to do. See, eventually your kids are going to
be exposed to water whether that’s the neighbor’s pool… the ocean on your beach vacation… or the lake at their favorite Summer Camp. And not having the most basic of swimming skills – floating, treading water, etc. -- could put them in harm’s way should they ever accidentally fall in, or just wander too deep.

Now apply that same “swim lesson logic” to the Martial
Arts. Yes, it is a great activity with all the benefits of a
sport or club (fitness, community, confidence, etc.). But
unlike softball or esports, the Martial Arts teaches
situational awareness and -- most importantly -- self-
defense. And self-defense is definitely a life skill. Could
even go so far as to say… a Iife-saving skill.

Because (if we’re honest with ourselves) at some point
in their lives, our children are going to face a bully… get
in a fight… or just come in contact with the threat of
physical violence. It is unavoidable, and most times, a
                                                           situation not of their making.

Being attacked without any self-defense skills is just like being thrown into the deep end without knowing how to swim. It won’t matter how hard your kids try to get out of the situation. Without having some proper training and technique, they’ll panic… thrash around without purpose… and possibly come to harm. That is why you put your kids in Martial Arts lessons. So that on the day your child gets confronted by a bully -- or worse -- you KNOW that they have the tools and confidence needed to stay calm and come home safe. You do not have to wonder if they got thrown into the deep end unprepared.

Martial Arts is a mandatory life skill.
